"It’s Yoga Tallinn teacher training was for me like when you go for a travel, you don’t know how it is gonna be or sometimes you don’t even know where you are going but you know it’s gonna be good and you are excited. This how I felt, I had no idea, as a beginner in what I put myself into but I knew it will be good. Good for my soul, my body and my brain. And it did not fail!" - Mathilde Roch-Penet (It's Yoga Tallinn graduate)
First, let go of expectations because every experience is different. But we are confident to say that 21 days dedicated to anything is enough time for interesting transformations to happen, physically and mentally.
If you put in the work, you’ll have a much stronger yoga practice, and much more clarity about yourself, where you are in life, and where you wish to go.
What is the training timetable?
On a more practical side, during the training, the days will begin at 9:00 and finish around 19:00, with various breaks in between to have a meal or simply catch a breath. Saturdays are a day off in the It’s Yoga system and will remain a day off during the training.
Saturdays - a wonderful chance to explore the medieval city of Tallinn and its seaside as the It’s Yoga Tallinn studio is tucked away right in the center of the Old Town - it’s quite a unique way to do your 200h training.

What kind of yoga do you teach?
We’ll go through all the details of each asana in the Modified Primary Series (including the breathwork, focus-points, and how to modify anything for your own body); the philosophy, history, and anatomy of yoga; how to stay centered as a yoga practitioner as well as a facilitator.
The It’s Yoga lineage has 30+ years of history, 8 satellite studios around the world, and thousands of happy graduates. Larry Schultz, aka The Rocketman, studied with luminary Sri K. Pattabhi Jois for seven years. Establishing It’s Yoga® in 1989, he is known as one of the foremost yoga enthusiasts in the West, and It’s Yoga® one of the oldest Ashtanga schools.
"I had thought long about changing my life? Or maybe not even changing - maybe just expanding. I had this feeling before going to my first 200hr teacher training in the Summer of 2015. And I didn’t even want to become a teacher - I truly just wanted a change. The journey that started at that point was beyond all my dreams. Going to yoga teacher training was the best decision in my life!" - Marilyn Jurman (Director of It's Yoga Tallinn)
What does 200hr, 300IYI, and 500IYI mean?
So basically the 200hr Yoga Teacher Training is a yoga foundation training to everyone. It doesn't matter, if you are just someone who would like to know more about yoga, or you have already been teaching for years, because like my teacher loves to say "The training begins when the training ends." So after the 200hr training, you will just enough to start sharing the practice with others if you want to or deepen the knowledge you already have. And if you want to learn more, then comes the 300IYI and 500IYI programs.
It's Yoga® International or in short IYI 300hr program is a Certified Rocket® Instructors Program with It's Yoga®. It is also registered with Yoga Alliance, meaning that after finishing the IYI 300hr program, you can register yourself in YA and become a registered 500hr yoga teacher and IYI 500 Teacher Trainer.
How do I know I’m “ready” for a yoga teacher training?
"Five words I would describe It's Yoga Tallinn 200hr training are - Calming. Grounding. Empowering. Lightening. Joy-sparking." - Kadri Barclay (It's Yoga Tallinn graduate)
There’s no such thing as “ready” or “perfect” when you are on your own mat. Yoga is a personal journey, not a competition, and that’s how the training is set up as well. Each student is guided to deepen their own practice. Whatever it looks like, you are already ready!
Behind the layer of asanas and physical form, there’s a whole world of self-discovery that’s never done. A regular yoga practice quiets the mind, resonates with your decisions off the mat, and affects the way you carry yourself through life in general.

Do I have to start teaching yoga?
No, you don’t have to do or be anything. But yes, the option is there.
The training will give you all the practical and theoretical tools to facilitate a class of Modified Primary Series - a 60 min Ashtanga Vinyasa flow, as it is practiced in the It’s Yoga system. After graduating, you’ll be a licensed yoga teacher, recognized by the International Yoga Alliance, and a valued member of the It’s Yoga international family.
